At Simple Life we understand that “community” can play an essential role in one’s sense of belonging, purpose, and well-being. Those who maintain regular interaction and connection with friends and neighbors are satisfying an instinctual human craving for connection. That’s why all our communities include quality amenities that encourage people to connect and share life beyond the walls of their own homes.

In a report released by the American Enterprise Institute in May 2019, Americans who live in amenity-packed neighborhoods are more likely to feel a sense of community and satisfaction. Nearly half (45%) of Americans who live in high-amenity neighborhoods rate their community as an excellent place to live, compared to just 26% of those who live in low-amenity neighborhoods. This is just one of the reasons we are pleased to announce details of the 3,500 square-foot luxury amenity center for residents of Lakeshore, Simple Life’s new 222 home cottage community located in Oxford, Florida

The amenity center features three buildings, a pool, and a gazebo – all with brilliant views of Lake Andrew. Interior Designer Linda Houghton, skilled in creating high-end golf clubs and resorts, has been engaged to appoint the space.

A mature three-trunk live oak welcomes visitors to the 1,996 square foot main pavilion. The mixed-use community space is perfect for large gatherings, along with private nooks for more focused tasks or intimate conversation. Residents can socialize at the indoor-outdoor bar, which will serve high-end coffee or tea, or gather in the gaming room to play or watch TV together. There is also an open-air porch with retractable screens to enjoy the gorgeous view of the lake.

According to the aforementioned report, 55% of Americans in low-amenity neighborhoods feel a high degree of social isolation, while less than one third of Americans in amenity-dense neighborhoods feel isolated. Americans who live in amenity-dense neighborhoods are twice as likely to talk to their neighbors on a daily basis than those who live in an area with fewer amenities. That said, at the far north end of the lake, a walking path (perfect for you and your favorite canine friend!) leads to the Lakeside Gazebo with rockers and benches, equally perfect for a meetup with your neighbors!

For the active resident, a 1,448 square foot Fitness Center includes an aerobics and yoga studio with daily classes as well as a weight and cardio room. A covered pavilion overlooks the 30’ by 70’ walk-in pool with an adjacent sun lover’s deck.

The community building also houses a reception area, an on-site property management team, and resident parcel pickup.

Says Simple Life president Mike McCann, “We are delighted with the progress and interest at Lakeshore. Our amenities will only enhance the lifestyle and beauty of this one-of-a-kind community.”
