Cottage Home Decor Ideas for Fall
It’s officially Fall, which means it’s time to get crafty and start decorating. If you check out our Pinterest, you’ll find boards for fall and Halloween décor inspiration that we’ll be updating throughout the season. But with the start of Fall earlier this week, I thought I’d share some of my favorite ideas for decorating your cottage home.
I think my porch is my favorite part of my home to decorate for Fall. It’s the first thing people see when they walk up to your home, and there’s so much room for creativity. Start with the obvious, pumpkins, and get a variety of sizes in both orange and white. If you have steps, it looks really nice to spread out the pumpkins on different levels. Then get a few bunches of flowers to put in pretty pots, all different sizes, around the pumpkins. Lastly is the wreath. I used to only use a wreath at Christmas, but why not use different wreaths for different holidays? (If you’re feeling extra festive, buy a new fall doormat!)
I try to be careful to not make my kitchen look cluttered. A few small pieces really do the best job! First and foremost, fall candles are a must. There’s nothing I love more than a good pumpkin candle. Next, grab your favorite fall hand towels and throw them over your oven door. You could even layer tea towels on top. I like to add a few mini pumpkins in my kitchen too.
If you have a breakfast nook, kitchen table or even a coffee table, you can get really creative with a center piece. The trick here is to layer lots of different elements. There are lots options here: mini pumpkins, candlesticks, faux fall leaves, pinecones, sunflowers, greenery or twinkle lights. The best place to do a centerpiece is somewhere you want to draw attention to- whether that’s in your living room, dining area or on your kitchen island. You can layer all of these pieces right on top of the table or use a pretty tray so everything is mobile if you might need the space.
These are a few of my favorite ways to decorate my space for Fall. How do you decorate your space? If you’d like to share some photos of your cottage home fall décor throughout the season, send them to email@example.com!
